Prayer for Japan: Weekly Prayer (Mar 14th, 2022)

Weekly Prayer (March 14th, 2022): Let us praise our God and Father for sending his beloved Son, Jesus, into the world to be our substitute and reconcile us to God. Please pray for many more Japanese who are still in the dark to be reconciled to God today, this month, this year (Isaiah 53; John 3:16; 2 Corinthians 5:19).

Isaiah 52:13-53:12 is about God's suffering servant, and we see the fulfillment of this prophesy in the Lord Jesus. God laid our sin and iniquity on Jesus on the cross, and it is by his wounds that we are healed (Isaiah 53:5-6).

Isaiah 53:12 says that God's servant "poured out his soul to death, and makes intercession for the transgressors." Jesus poured out his soul to death in order to reconcile sinners go God, we who have transgressed God's law and turned away from God. How amazing is God's mercy!

Let us join together this week and come before our Father in heaven, asking God to continue to heal the Japanese people with the wounds of Christ. Please pray for many more Japanese men, women, and children, to be reconciled to God and brought into his glorious light.

Let us pray for those who are tempted to abandon hope, who feel they are beyond salvation, to hear the truth that Jesus "is able to save to the uttermost all who draw near to God through him" (Heb 7:25a). Pray for them to draw near to God through Christ.

In Jesus's beautiful name we pray these things, O Lord. Amen.
