Weekly Prayer: August 17th, 2020

Pray for help and rescue for Japanese people who are contemplating suicide. Pray for the Lord to turn them from despair to living hope in His Name. 

Japan has had an annual suicide rate of 20,000-30,000 per year, one of the highest of all developed nations. Let us intercede for these hurting people & pray for the Lord to make known to the Japanese his hope, grace, and truth that pierces through the darkest places and most hopeless feelings. 

Let us pray for those on the verge of ending their lives to reach out for help from family, friends, their community—and let us pray for true help, for the Lord to lead them away from suicide to light and life in Christ Jesus. Please pray for God to stay their hands and for Him to open their hearts to receive and believe the Gospel.

Finally, let us pray for those who have lost loved ones—family, friends, co-workers, and others—to suicide in Japan. Pray for God’s great comfort and mercy for them, snd for them to encounter the living God who wipes away the tears of all his people. Pray for them to hear and believe the Gospel as well.
