Weekly Prayer (Dec 13th, 2021): Let us pray for millions of Japanese men, women, and children to come adore the Lord Jesus, to put their hope in "he who is able to save to the uttermost," this Christmas (Heb 7:25).
Hebrews 7:25 is one of the most precious verses in the Bible to me, and I go back to it continually to remind me of the glorious truth that Jesus is able to save to the uttermost. Hebrews 7:23-25 says:
"The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever. Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them."
The Lord Jesus continues forever, and he is able to save to the uttermost--that is, completely, at all times, forever--all those who draw near to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for those who draw near.
Let us pray this week, as we move closer and closer to Christmas, for more Japanese than we can count to draw near to God through Jesus, to come to know the hope that does not put to shame (Romans 5:5). Let us pray for many, many Christians to share the good news of Christ with Japanese people--both in Japan and overseas--this Christmas, and let us continue to ask for the Lord to open their hearts to repent and believe the gospel.
Thank you so much for faithfully interceding for the Japanese people, week after week, day after day. May the Lord continue to help us press on in this labor of prayer, knowing that in Him our labor is not in vain (1 Cor. 15:58).
