Weekly Prayer (Dec 28th, 2021): As 2021 comes to an end and 2022 quickly approaches, let us pray for the Lord to stir in the hearts of the Japanese over the New Year holiday (which traditionally includes visits to shrines to pray for the new year), that this year the Lord will turn a great multitude of Japanese people to Himself.
Let us pray for those who will visit shrines—a yearly ritual for many Japanese for New Year’s—not to feel peace or comfort from their visits. Let us pray that God will work in their hearts to show them how they need someone outside of themselves to save them from their sins. Pray that they will be convicted of their sin and be ready to receive the good news of Christ Jesus.
And let us pray for many heralds, laborers, and believers to share the gospel of Christ Jesus with those in Japan who are perishing, they who are currently without hope and without God in the world (Eph 2:12). Let us pray that in this new year, 2022, that this will change for millions upon millions of Japanese. Praise the Lord that with Him all things are possible.
In Jesus’s Name may we pray these things. Amen.
P.S. Thank you for faithfully praying with me for the Japanese people throughout 2021, and I joyfully look forward to continuing on in prayer with you all in 2022.
