Weekly Prayer (Feb 7th, 2022): Let us pray for Japanese Christians who are tempted to or beginning to wander from the truth. Pray that the Lord will draw them back to himself and that they will hunger and thirst for the Lord more than ever before (Psalm 63:1-4).
About a year ago, we prayed this prayer for our Japanese brothers and sisters in Christ, and I would like to ask us to join together again this week and intercede for these children of God, that they may not fall away.
Let us pray for Japanese believers who are beginning to let the cares of this world turn their eyes of Christ, for those who are under severe pressure from family and others to abandon the faith. Let us pray for those who are perhaps doubting whether the Gospel is true and beginning to drift. Let us ask the Lord this day to bring them to a place of deep hunger and thirst for God, the kind of thirst we read of in Psalm 63…
"O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
beholding your power and glory.
Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
So I will bless you as long as I live;
in your name I will lift up my hands.”
Pray for these wandering sheep to be brought back into the fold by the Good Shepherd, and may the Lord be glorified as they worship Him. Let us pray for their faith to shine brightly and that others will come to faith through their testimony.
In Jesus’s Name, we pray these things. Amen.
