Weekly Prayer (Jan 10th, 2022): On this Coming of Age Day in Japan, let us pray specifically for these 20 year olds--and the younger generation in Japan--to come to be born again by the grace of God to a living hope (1 Pet. 1:3).
Coming of Age Day is held annually on the second Monday of January in order to encourage and congratulate who have reached the age of 20 between April 2 of the previous year and April 1st of the current year. Coming of age ceremonies are often held, as well as parties with family and friends. Traditional dress, such as kimono, are often worn.
As these young men and women celebrate officially entering adulthood, let us pray that God would work in their hearts this year, to soften their hearts to prepare them to receive the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Pray for these young people to have interactions and friendships with believers and for these Christians to share the gospel with them.
Let us pray for the younger generation in Japan to be a generation that is truly transformed by the hope of the Gospel. Let us pray for them to hear and believe the gospel, by the grace of God, and for them to be eager to share the hope of Jesus with all around them. In Jesus's beautiful Name, amen.
