Let us pray for the Lord to make his Japanese children of light worthy of his calling upon their lives, that the name of the Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in them (2 Thessalonians 1:11-12).
As we continue to pray for the Japanese church this July, let us pray Paul's words from 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 for them this week:
"To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ."
As we pray these words for and over the church this week, let us also pray for Japanese believers to let their light shine before others and for their families, friends, neighbors, co-workers, even strangers, to ask them about the hope that is within them. And pray for our brothers and sisters to be ready to share about the hope they have, and may they do so with boldness, gentleness, and joy in Christ.
Please, Father, strengthen your Japanese bride--prepare her for the coming of her Bridegroom, and may she shine as a bright light among the darkness of Japan. We continue to ask for a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit among those who still sit in darkness and in death. We ask these things in Jesus's Name, Amen
