Weekly Prayer (June 21st, 2021)

Writer's picture: MelanieMelanie

Hello everyone! Sorry I missed last week. I was out of town for a ministry retreat.

I also wanted to give a bit of an update about this prayer group for the next few weeks. I'd like to spend a few weeks praying specifically for the Japanese church, for Japanese men, women, and children who by God's grace have been born again to a living hope.

And during this time, I'd like to focus each week on a specific prayer from the New Testament for the church that we can pray for the Japanese church.

So, to begin, let's look at Paul's prayer for the believers at Colossae in Colossians 1:9-12:

"And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light."

Let us join together and pray the above for our Japanese brothers ands sisters in Christ. And I'd encourage you to pray individuals by name as you are able.

Heavenly Father, please hear our prayers for your bride in Japan, and please strengthen your church by your mighty grace, for the praise of your glory. In Jesus's Name, Amen.
