Weekly Prayer (March 7th, 2022): Though Easter Sunday is still over a month away, let us pray for God to grant millions of Japanese people who have never heard the Gospel message to hear it this year and believe on the Lord Jesus for salvation (Acts 2:38-39; Acts 16:31).
Let us pray for God’s special grace and mercy for the Japanese people as we approach Holy Week and Resurrection Sunday. Let us pray for those who will hear the Gospel the first time whether through a friend, hearing/watching/attending a church service, reading the Bible themselves…whatever means God chooses, let us ask the Lord to cause light to dawn in their hearts, that they might be raised up with Christ (Eph. 2:4-5).
And let us pray for opportunities for believers to share the Gospel message with those around them, and may the Lord grant them boldness and grace as they share with those in their lives the salvation and hope that is found in Christ Jesus alone.
Pray, too, for churches as they prepare to welcome visitors, that God's light and grace will shine through his people so that these visitors will really want to know more about this hope Christians have. Pray for believers to be ready to give a reason for the hope that is within them, and that they will share it with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15).
Let us pray for Japan to be continually transformed by the power of the Gospel, by the almighty grace of God. Please grant this, O Lord, for your glory. In Jesus’s Name we pray, Amen.
