Let us join in prayer for the bride of Christ in Japan to delight in the law of the LORD and meditate on his word day and night, to the praise of God's glorious grace (Psalm 1).
Let us pray fervently for our Japanese brothers and sisters to be what Psalm 1 describes the person to be who delights in the Lord. This blessed one “is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers” (Psalm 1:3).
Let us pray that Japanese believers will drink deeply from the Word of God day and night, that they will rejoice in who they are in Christ, and joyfully follow the Lord’s will for them in Christ Jesus. Pray that they will walk not in their own strength or wisdom but in the Lord’s.
And let us pray for these saints, who shine as lights in the world (Phil. 2:15), not to fear man but rather honor God. And pray for those who are still in the darkness, that God may grant them the grace to see the light in these saints and give glory to God. Pray for those who walk in darkness to be transferred, by the mighty power of the Holy Spirit, to the kingdom of Jesus, the beloved Son of God.
May the sanctification of the bride of Christ in Japan—and indeed, in all the world—be to the great glory and praise of God now and forevermore. Amen.
