Weekly Prayer (May 23rd, 2023): Let us pray for millions of Japanese people to be born again to a living hope by the power of God in 2023 (1 Pet 1:3-5).
We have all been so richly blessed by God to have been born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. And as we marvel at God's great mercy toward us, I want to invite us to pray the opening verses of 1 Peter for the Japanese people, that they will be born again by the mercy of God...
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time" (1 Pet 1:3-5).
Heavenly Father, you are so kind and merciful, and we praise you for the Lord Jesus who laid down his life for his sheep. We praise you for the living hope you have granted us in Christ, and we pray for millions of Japanese people to be born again to this living hope. Please grant them your grace to taste and see that you are good, for you to grant them an inheritance that imperishable, undefiled, and unfading. We ask all these things in Jesus's glorious Name. Amen.
