Weekly Prayer (Sept 27th, 2021): Please pray for God's peace, grace, and hope to guard the hearts and minds of Christ's ambassadors to the Japanese people, both in Japan and overseas (Philippians 4:6-7; Eph 6:10-18).
Let us begin by giving thanks for the laborers the Lord has called to reach his harvest fields in Japan (and Japanese communities living abroad as well), and let us pray that by God's grace they will "be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord [their] labor is not in vain" (1 Corinthians 15:58).
And as God's laborers seek to fulfill the ministry they have received from the Lord (2 Tim. 4:5), let us pray for God's protection for them from the evil one, that they will stand "strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might" (Eph 6:10). Pray for them not to "be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving" to make their requests known to God (Phil 4:6-7).
Finally, let us pray above all for the Lord to be glorified as his light shines through his jars of clay, and that the Holy Spirit will turn many hearts to faith and repentance as the gospel goes forth. Let us pray these things this week in the name of Christ Jesus. Amen.
