Weekly Prayer (Sept 7th, 2020): Pray that God would give Japanese people a heart of flesh (Ez. 11:19).
Christian blogger Tim Challies wrote an article 4 years ago on how to pray for unbelievers, and he highlights 18 specific ways, drawn from Scripture, to pray for those who are in spiritual darkness. I would like these to guide our prayers for the Japanese people for the next several weeks.
So, as we pray for unbelieving Japanese people this week, let us pray specifically that God would take out their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.
In speaking about His people, God says in Ezekiel 11:19, “And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh.”
Pray that the Lord would continue to remove hearts of stone from the Japanese and give them hearts of flesh that love Him and desire to glorify Him above all else.
